If you’re here it means you are curious about the wonderful world of Korean alcohol, and you have come to the right place. The Sool Company was founded by Julia Mellor, the first non-Korean specialist in the field of Korean booze and a self-confessed devotee to the makgeolli cause.
Our space
The Sool Company Studio
Located in the vibrant neighbourhood of Hyehwa in Seoul, Korea, our space includes a microbrewery, a bottle shop, a bar and a learning space.
Our founder
Julia Mellor, Sool Specialist
Julia has spent more than a decade studying and researching Korean alcohol, from fermentation principles to the ins-and-outs of owning a brewery. She is happiest in the corners of traditional breweries with local artisans, discussing the finer points of rice and yeast over a cold bowl of makgeolli.
