Introducing Korea-Cultured: Boutique Korean Fermentation & Gastronomy Tours

Probably one of the most frequent questions we get at The Sool Company is ‘Do you offer any makgeolli brewery or soju distillery tours?”
While brewery tours and alcohol tourism is big business in many countries, it’s still not that easy in Korea. 90% of Korean alcohol breweries are located in the countryside, outside of the ease and convenience of Seoul subways or Busan buses. Not only that, most breweries in Korea are just not so well equipped or prepared for international tourists. Whether it’s language or accessibility, or most often they are simply hard at work brewing!
But all that said, for years we have wanted to solve this problem so visitors can experience what we get to on a daily basis. It’s safe to say The Sool Company would be nothing without the many incredible and inspiring breweries and distilleries we have the privilege of working with, and we are so excited to announce that we can finally share that experience with others.
‘Korea Cultured’ is our new boutique tour series centered around one simple concept: Human Connection. At each step of our carefully curated itineraries, you will have the chance to meet the masters and artisans behind some of Korea’s most treasured food and beverage traditions. These are the people passionate about their craft, whether it be makgeolli, soju, green tea, jang or kimchi.
If there’s one thing to know about Korea’s cuisine and alcohol industry, it’s that fermentation is not just a word, it’s a lifestyle. That’s why we wanted to build experiences that give the opportunity to discover not just sool, but all the wonders of Korea – Cultured (see what we did there 😉 ). On each itinerary expect to share, chat, drink, eat, and get hands-on with workshops and experiences. These definitely aren’t your typical tours.
We have designed itineraries in four regions: Andong Edition, Jeolla Edition, Chungbuk Edition and Gyeonggi Edition. Each tour has a limited number of spaces, keeping it intimate and meaningful. To kick off the launch, we have the opportunity to run the Andong Edition at an extremely discounted price until the end of October, thanks to some Andong City support. Dates are now open for the Andong Edition, so check out the itinerary and take advantage of this one-time only price!
‘Korea Cultured’ has been a passion project for our team, and we can’t wait to share it with you all.
